Marketing has different types -- from Database Marketing to social media marketing, it’s very vast. 

These days, marketing is far from the Mad Men-esque scotch-fueled bonanza. The Internet has made most niches and markets global, with the appropriate levels of competition. Plus, the target audience for most B2C companies has increased immensely in the past 20 years. The world of online commerce gives us access to far more buyer information than retail ever could — and contemporary marketing strategies are making use of that.

Before going deep about the topic,we will talk about what database mean to us,Database Marketing is a direct form of marketing by using the information about its potential  customers for the purpose of marketing of its product or service.It is an indirect form of marketing.
Database marketing emphasizes the use of statistical techniques to develop the model of consumer,then to select consumer for communication.Here ,various information related to consumer is gathered like-name, address ,contact no. and transaction history details are gathered.

Consumer database:It primarily geared to when the company sell its product to the consumer,here the name ,address and transaction history details from internal sales or delivery system or from the other organisation which has captured the information of the consumer like  credit application form,subscription form.

Business database: When the company sell its product to another business this is known as B2B,the communication generated by database marketing is shown in junk mail or spam ,if its unwanted by addressee.All the necessary information related to business is collected.

  • Customer Segmentation:

For every PRODUCT there is a customer segmentation-different age groups,preferences and income level.Even when the target group is same with the same feeling and preferences,all of them may not influence with the same advertising..so there are many ways by which we can differentiate the members of general group for creating different campaigns and interaction for each different part of target,that would them for the conversion .
